Toronto Miracle depends on the collective action of individuals coming together in support of their community. In addition to individual households donating food items, we encourage school groups, condo buildings, local businesses and community organizations to participate by running a group food drive. They are a wonderful way to engage your local community while participating in a city-wide effort.

Resources to support your food drives are available here.

REGISTERING AS A SCHOOL GROUP

Toronto Miracle is a great event for schools to participate in. Place a donation box in every classroom or challenge the whole school to fill the gym – there are lots of possibilities.

  1. Register your school here. Someone from our school team will be in touch to help with email and poster templates you can use to get the word out
  2. Collect donations leading up to the event day, Saturday, December 4.
  3. Please remember to send the total number of pieces collected to contact@torontomiracle.org so we can include your efforts in our final total.
  4. If the school can be accessed on December 4, we can arrange for volunteers to pick up the donations. Otherwise, all donations can be dropped off at a local non-profit or one of our distribution partner locations Monday through Friday. If a school-based volunteer is unable to do this, our Toronto Miracle school team can support the school in making alternative arrangements.
