Toronto Miracle

On December 5, we collected 140,000 non-perishable food items in a single day

HOw did we do it?

Over 6,000 generous people donated food and 2,500 amazing people volunteered their time to lead teams, collect, sort and deliver donations.

Thank you for helping us make a miracle happen

Together, we MADE a miracle happen.

On December 5ᵗʰ at 10am, residents of Toronto were invited to leave a non-perishable food item on their doorstep. Volunteers collected these donations and redistribute to those in need in the community.

These unique times we have been going through in this pandemic are the most difficult that many of us have ever faced. Now is the time to find the hero in each of us and protect the most vulnerable in our community. This is our moment.

Community led. Community love.

Toronto Miracle is a grassroots initiative, run completely on volunteer power. From getting the word out to picking up the food – this initiative can’t happen without the support of YOU – the Toronto community. The more people who get involved, the more we will be able to support our neighbours in need.

Together, we raised 140,000 non-perishable food items, the equivalent of 210,000 pounds.

(That's about equal to the weight of 53 cars stacked on top of one another.)

Toronto Miracle was started by community members who were concerned about the impact COVID-19 was having on our city. Inspired by similar events held in Chatham-Kent, Windsor-Essex, NWT and Montreal we decided to run an event in Toronto that would give everyone an equal opportunity to participate in making a difference in our community.
